It looks like so much fun. I wish I were there. Their Eyes Were Watching God is one of my favorite books.

Nadine Whitfield was amazing as Zora. My dad asked where we found someone to play the part-- Ms. Whitfield is one of our own instructors at VSU. Also it was lovely to see so many young people (the yoot!) come out on a Sunday and give such a variety of heartfelt performances. Quite a display of faith and commitment, inspiring and most enjoyable.

It's great to see how much talent we have in our own community, too. Valdosta has a lot to offer!

I wish I had been there, too. One of my favorite novels, and how exciting to have it a community read. Kudos on this entire event.

Thanks to everyone who work so hard to bring The Big Read to Valdosta. The Kick-off event was so much fun and I enjoyed all the talented performers during the afternoon. This was a true celebration and I am enjoying reading "Their Eyes Were Watching God".
